Aaron Finch smashed the T20 record for the highest individual score made by a batsman in a game. He produced blistering innings of 172 runs against Zimbabwe to help Australia win the game by a big margin. Finch has signed a two-year contract with Big Bash League franchise Melbourne Renegades.
The star batsman will be keen to help Renegades win the coveted prize next year. The 31-year old smashed a record score against Zimbabwe in the ongoing T20 Tri-nation series as he managed to break his own record. His previous best of 156 runs against England came in a one-off T20 game against Australia.
Finch has been playing for Melbourne Renegades since the start of Big Bash League. He has proved to be successful at the top of the innings for Melbourne Renegades. The right-handed batsman is keen to produce good performances in the upcoming Big Bash League and will try his best to make sure Renegades can lift their maiden crown.
Aaron Finch has been a prominent candidate for one-day captaincy for Australia. The untimely suspension of David Warner and Steven Smith has pushed him to the spotlight to lead the side in the one-day format. Tim Paine was made interim captain for Australia during the one-day series against England but his lack of form might see him resign from the post in the future.
Since the start of the Big Bash League, Melbourne Renegades have managed to reach semifinals on two occasions (2012-13 and 2017-18). Renegades have yet to play a final in the competition and will be hoping to end their drought this year. The franchise has certainly increased their squad by signing veteran all-rounder Dan Christian on a three-year deal. Leg-spinner Cameron Boyce will also be playing for Melbourne Renegades after signing with the franchise for the next two seasons of the Big Bash League.
