All-rounder Dan Christian signs a two-year deal with Sydney Sixers

After playing two previous seasons of Big Bash with Melbourne Renegades, All-rounder Dan Christian has signed a two-year deal with Sydney Sixers. He is certainly to going to play a big role as Sydney Sixers look to defend their title in the upcoming season of Big Bash League.

Initially, Dan Christian began his cricketing career in New South Wales almost 14 years ago and his return to Sydney-based franchise marks a full circle for his decorated career.  By joining Sixers, this will be Dan Christian’s fourth franchise and overall 17th T20 franchise in his overall career in the format. He has been a part of teams that have won seven trophies.

Dan Christian said that this was the best time to play T20 cricket in front of home crowds. He has played T20 cricket for almost a decade now. He further stated that this is not his last hurrah in the Big Bash League and was eagerly waiting with play with guys like Moises Henriques and work with Head Coach Greg Shipperd.

All-rounder said that he played colts cricket together with Moises Henriques. Both the players went on to play for New South Wales at the domestic level. Both have made their appearances for Australia at the international stage. Christian said that he has spent a lot of time with Moises Henriques and will be form a nice partnership with him at Sydney Sixers.

Christian is known for finishing games off with the bat over the years, will be look to more of the same for Sydney Sixers. Being an experienced campaigner, he will be keen to pass on the necessary knowledge and help them excel in crunch moments in the game.

Sydney Sixers Head Coach, Greg Shipperd said that the franchise was delighted to sign Daniel Christian for the coming edition of Big Bash League. He stated that Dan Christian is one of bigger names in the Big Bash League and brings a lot of information and experience to the overall squad. The main aim for Sixers is to make further improvements and Christian will certainly provide great balance to the playing XI.
