Colin De Grandhomme, Ross Taylor dropped from the New Zealand’s T20 World Cup squad

Veteran middle-order batsman Ross Taylor has been not included in the 15-member squad for ICC T20 World Cup that is slated to begin from 17th October in the United Arab Emirates. All-rounder Colin de Grandhomme is another notable absentee from the World Cup squad. Captain Kane Williamson will lead the side for the showpiece event this year.

Ross Taylor, who represented New Zealand in 102 T20I matches, hasn’t played a T20 game for New Zealand since November last year. Ish Sodhi, Todd Astle and Mitchell Santner are three spinners named in the squad, while Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Kyle Jamieson and Trent Boult are four prominent pacers for New Zealand for the showpiece event.

James Neesham and Daryl Mitchell are two quality all-rounders included in the New Zealand’s World Cup squad. Pacer Adam Milne has been named as a reserve player and will travel with New Zealand final squad to the United Arab Emirates.

The same group of players will travel to India after conclusion of the T20 World Cup to play three-match T20I series.

New Zealand is scheduled tour Bangladesh, Pakistan and India this year. The T20 squad is scheduled to leave for Bangladesh on 23rd August. The visitors will play five-match T20I Internationals. Opener Tom Latham will lead the side for the Bangladesh T20I series. The 16-member squad includes uncapped pacer Ben Sears and all-rounder Cole McConchie.

Rachin Ravindra, Ben Sears and Cole McConchie are uncapped players named in New Zealand ODI squad for Pakistan series. Wellington Coach Glenn Pocknall will be the interim coach for New Zealand. Shane Jurgensen will be bowling coach for New Zealand for the tours of Bangladesh and Pakistan.

For the five-match T20I series against Pakistan, Todd Astle, Ish Sodhi, Mark Chapman and Martin Guptill will join New Zealand squad. Pacer Matt Henry will be included in the T20I squad for the Pakistan series.
