South Africa’s fiery batsman yet keeper Quinton de Kock has been ruled out of the 10th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 with an injury to the right hand index finger. Quinton, who plays for the Delhi Daredevils (DD), will no more be part of the 10th edition after he struck ligament injury on his right index finger during the second Test match against South Africa at Wellington.
De Kock, though will play in the third and final Test of the continuing New Zealand-South Africa series after increased emphasis from South African skipper Faf du Plessis. His recovery from an injury might take at least four weeks per team’s doctors from South African Side.
Quinton De Kock’s exclusion for IPL could also be in lieu of the forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy and South Africa’s important Test series vs England.Quinton De Kock was auctioned for Rs. 3.5 crore in the 2014 auctions by Delhi Daredevils and since then has been their most dependable batsman. De Kock earlier played in the IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 2013.
Earlier this week, Delhi based franchise Delhi Daredevils suffered a major blow after their leading all-rounder JP Duminy held back his participation from IPL 10th edition. JP Duminy cited personal reasons for his self-exclusion from this season. He stated during the press release that it’s been very hard decision for him to make but this was due to his personal reasons. He thanked franchise DD for the support and understanding on the subject. It’s been great privilege to have served and led a mix of talented players. He further said that he hopes he will be part of this franchise sometime in future.
