Gujarat suffers a big blow as Brendon McCullum is ruled out of Indian Premier League remaining games

Gujarat Lions have suffered big blow to their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs of the Indian Premier League 2017. Brendon McCullum will take no further part in the Indian Premier League after sustaining an hamstring injury during the game against Delhi. Former New Zealand batsman expressed his gratitude to the Gujarat fans for their overwhelming support at all the times during the season via video message.

He also wrote an appreciate tweet showing his respect and admiration for the fellow colleagues and team management. Brendon McCullum will go to New Zealand to recover from injury sustained during the game played against Delhi Daredevils.

He did produce a good show with the bat scoring 319 runs from 11 games played in the competition. The two cricketers join Andrew Tye and Dwayne Bravo who was were ruled out of the season due to injuries.

The swashbuckling batsman’s departure will things little tougher for Gujarat as there will be over-reliance on Aaron Finch, Suresh Raina and Dinesh Karthik to do bulk of the scoring. Bowling has been their major worry this season for Gujarat Lions as the most of games lost have been due to lack of good bowlers in the ranks.
