England middle-order batsman Dawid Malan has been signed by Hobart Hurricanes for the coming edition of Big Bash League. The top-ranked T20I batsman in the world will be looking to do well in his first stint with Hobart Hurricanes.
Left hander performed exceedingly well for England in the T20 format and was prolific run-scorer in the series against Pakistan and Australia. Against old rivals Australia, Dawid Malan put in splendid contributions with the bat and accumulated 129 runs at an average of 43.00 with a strike rate of 138.70.
The 33-year old will be determined to make an impression with the bat in his debut season of Big Bash League. Hobart Hurricanes have certainly bolstered their batting resources after signing Dawid Malan for this year’s competition. The franchise might be without their premier pacer Jofra Archer this season.
Dawid Malan will join the likes of Matthew Wade and D’Arcy Short, who been consistent performers in the batting department for Hobart Hurricanes. Given his ability to play long innings, Malan might be promote to open the innings or at no.3 in the batting order.
