Wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni has been included in India’s T20 squad for New Zealand tour that will start from January. Rishabh Pant has been overlooked for the one-day series against Australia and New Zealand.
Pant will return to India to play for India A side in a five-match one-day series against England Lions. The 21-year old made his T20 debut against West Indies in November. All-rounder Hardik Pandya has been included in ODI and T20I squads for tour to New Zealand. Pandya did play a couple of game before flying to Australia to join Test squad for series against Australia.
Pandya was out of action for atleast three months after suffering from back injury ahead of the preparations for the Asia Cup in September. Pace bowler Umesh Yadav has been dropped from the one-day squad. Off-spinner Washington Sundar has been omitted from the T20 squad due to poor show with the ball.
Manish Pandey has been dropped from one-day squad after a string of low scores for the side in the format. Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik have been consistent performers for India in limited-overs cricket and have retained their place in the squad.
After the conclusion of four-match Test series, India will then play three-match one-day series against Australia that will begin from 12th January. The side will then tour New Zealand to play five-match one-day series followed three T20I games.
