Sri Lanka has announced their squad for second Test as left-handed batsman Lahiru Thiramanne has earned a recall into the lineup for the clash at Colombo. Dinesh Chandimal has been declared fit and will lead Sri Lanka for the second Test of the series.
The left-arm Chinaman Lakshan Sandakan has been included in the squad while Suranga Lakmal has been dropped due to a back injury. Rangana Herath was not at his best with the ball in the first Test as veteran spinner would be keen to do better at Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.
Rangana Herath did not bowl in the practice session on Tuesday but will be fit for the second Test. Malinda Pushpakumara will replace Lahiru Kumara for this game. Lahiru Thiramanne did play well in the warm-up against India and might play in the next game after being left out of the side during Sri Lanka’s tour to England last year. He will replace Asela Gunaratne in the Test squad for the remaining games of the series.
