Pakistan have named their 15-member T20 squad for the forthcoming three-match series against New Zealand.The first game of the T20 series will be played at Wellington on January 22. Sarfaraz Ahmed will lead the side for the T20 series while Umar Amin, Aamir Yamin, and Haris Sohail are new additions to the squad.
Haris Sohail who is talented left-handed batsman made his debut in 2013 and even played his last game in the same year. Aamir Yamin also made his debut against England in November 2015 in T20 series played in UAE. All-rounder Mohammad Nawaz also has been included in the setup in the absence of first-choice Imad Wasim who was ruled out of the tour due to a knee injury.
Leg-spinner Shadab Khan has done reasonably well in this tour while Mohammad Amir, Hasan Ali and Rumman Raees are three frontline seamers for the series.
Ahmed Shehzad also makes a comeback into the T20 squad after being dropped from ODI side for the tour of New Zealand. Azhar Ali replaced Shehzad in the one-day setup while the only change in the squad is Imam-ul-Haq being replaced by Umar Amin. Shehzad has been in superb form in the T20 format for Pakistan and has scored heavily at the domestic level.
Chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq said that the squad picked is the best possible one with only Imad Wasim missing out due to injury. New Zealand have taken a 2-0 lead over Pakistan in the five-match one-day series. The first game of the three-match T20 series will be played on 22nd January at Wellington. Sarfaraz and co. will be keen to produce a good performance as New Zealand proved to be tough opponents in their conditions.
