Three-time BBL Champions, Perth Scorchers, have signed England opener Jason Roy for the upcoming season of Big Bash League. Besides Roy, Liam Livingstone is another Englishmen signed by the franchise for the coming edition of the league.
Roy has not yet confirmed his availability for BBL as England is scheduled to tour South Africa in the month of November and December. Swashbuckling opener will definitely in the T20I series against South Africa. With 14-day quarantine period in place for BBL, Jason Roy will be available for Perth Scorchers during the Christmas week.
Perth Scorchers have re-signed Joe Paris, who makes his return to the franchise for his sixth season. Also, Cameron Gannon has signed by the franchise, who previously played for teams like Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat.
Jason Roy has expressed his pleasure on joining Perth Scorchers for the coming edition of Big Bash League. The 30-year old said that overall squad for Scorchers looks strong and environment of the franchise is expected to be awesome. He further stated that he wanted to make notable contributions and help Perth Scorchers go the distance in this year’s competition.
Perth Scorchers Head Coach Adam Voges said that the franchise is excited to sign Jason Roy for the coming season of Big Bash League. He stated that Roy has been a great performer in white-ball cricket and will add firepower to the top-order.
The franchise has certainly made decent acquisitions to bolster the overall squad for the coming season. Liam Livingstone and Jason Roy will certainly strengthen the batting resources for Scorchers in the forthcoming BBL season.
