England duo of Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes will not be available for the second leg of 2021 Indian Premier League. West Indies duo of Oshane Thomas and Evin Lewis has been signed by Rajasthan Royals for the UAE leg of Indian Premier League.
Evin Lewis who is currently showing excellent form for St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots will be looking to continue his rich vein of form with the bat in the upcoming edition of Indian Premier League. Swashbuckling opener will certainly be looking to make an impact with the bat for Rajasthan Royals in the second phase of Indian Premier League.
On the other hand, Pacer Oshane Thomas has been signed to bolster the bowling resources for the coming IPL season. In 51 T20I matches played, Oshane Thomas had claimed 63 wickets at an average of 24.31 with one five-wicket haul to his name.
While all-rounder Ben Stokes has decided to take indefinite break from international cricket due to mental health reasons. Jos Buttler will also miss the tournament after taking maternity leave to be with his wife for their birth of their second child. Earlier, Ben Stokes also missed the Pataudi Trophy against India played at home. Jos Buttler played for England in the first three matches of the Test series against India. He missed the fourth Test at the Oval due to personal reasons.
For Rajasthan Royals, Oshane Thomas has claimed five-wickets in four outings. Lewis has previously played for Mumbai Indians and scored 430 runs in 16 matches. Earlier, Rajasthan Royals wanted to sign South Africa spinner Tabraiz Shamsi as a replacement for Australian all-rounder Andrew Tye. Glenn Phillips came in for Jofra Archer, who has been ruled out of the action for atleast six months.
Currently, Rajasthan Royals have played at fifth position with three victories out of seven matches played in the first leg of Indian Premier League.
