West Indies have named their 15-member squad for the upcoming one-day series against India that starts from 21st October. Veteran opener Chris Gayle refused to be a part of the squad due to his commitment in Afghan Premier League being played in UAE. Darren Bravo and Kieron Pollard make their return as Cricket West Indies also announced T20 squad for three-match T20I series that will begin from 4th November.
Uncapped players like Oshane Thomas, Fabian Allan and Chandrapaul Hemraj have been included in ODI squad for coming five-match series. Sunil Ambris also returned to the squad after last playing for West Indies in September 2017.
Chris Gayle will be available for selection for the home series against England and also for the 2019 Cricket World Cup that will be played in England in June. All-rounder Andre Russell has sidelined from limited-overs squad due to injury but will get in fit in time for the three-match T20I series that starts from 4th November.
West Indies Cricket Board has made concerted efforts to engage with high players who had their issues with the administration in the past. The top personnel are trying their best to make sure big players can become available for 2019 Cricket World Cup that will be played in England.
